Julie Corbin, MA
Julie specializes in working with children, adolescents, and
families. She has a Master's
Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University
and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. She is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy
Intern with the state of Florida (#IMT 1151). Julie treats
children and teens 2 -18 years old for behavior problems, mood
disorders, family conflict and adjustment to family changes.
Julie has worked
for ten years in a variety of therapeutic roles including foster
care, non-profit family counseling, non-profit individual
counseling, and juvenile justice outreach, in addition to her
private practice. She specializes in working with children of
divorce, trauma treatment and developmental disabilities. She is
a clinical member of the Association for Play Therapy, the
Florida Association for Play Therapy, the American Counseling
Association and the Florida Association of Marriage and Family
Counseling.
Julie's
counseling approach is child-centered, tailored to meet the
family's goals for therapy, and utilizes tools that are most
effective for the family and child. More often with younger
children, play techniques are used. Julie frequently uses
cognitive-behavioral approaches and includes the family in
treatment to the degree needed for each child, based on age,
development and availability. |
